I started Working at Barclays Bank on the 1st of August 2022. My experiences so far has been a learning curve. I started my role as a Customer Service Advisor by initially undertaking training for the first eight weeks. Training as a Customer Service Advisor at Barclays involves learning various skills and knowledge areas, including:
- Product Knowledge: Understanding the range of financial products and services Barclays offers, such as current accounts, savings accounts, loans, credit cards, and mortgages.
- Customer Interaction: Developing effective communication skills to assist customers with inquiries, resolve issues, and provide excellent service.
- Systems and Processes: Getting familiar with Barclays’ internal systems and processes, including how to navigate customer accounts, process transactions, and handle confidential information securely.
- Compliance and Regulations: Learning about the financial regulations and compliance standards that govern banking, including anti-money laundering (AML) and data protection laws.
- Problem-Solving: Gaining the ability to quickly and efficiently address customer concerns, troubleshoot issues, and offer appropriate solutions.
- Teamwork: Collaborating with colleagues to ensure that customer inquiries are handled promptly and effectively.
- Soft Skills: Enhancing skills like empathy, patience, and active listening, which are essential in providing top-notch customer service.
